Newsbadger

Newsbadger blog is intended to point out the bias in mainstream news and to provide at least some balance. If it can convince the news consumer of the need to consult multiple news sources in trying to understand what is really going on, I will consider it a success.

I have been retired for 13 years, and in the 13 years of retirement have gotten much more into news and politics. I have increasingly noticed bias in the local and national news sources. The bias comes in many forms including taking editorial positions in news stories, providing only part of the facts in a news story, misleading headlines, and ignoring news that doesn't fit with the paper or news program's editorial positions. I am committed to digging into the news, pointing out bias when I find it, and providing some balance as best I can. Additionally, the hypocrisy and dishonesty of most who call themselves liberals and Democrats never ceases to surprise me. Since it is rare for anyone in the mainstream media to cover politics in a balanced manner, I will I will provide a view from the right.

Everyone Gets One Vote

I recently met one of my college buddies whom I had not seen in about 15 years.  He brought up the election, and he admitted to being a long-time democrat/union backer who was in the Obama camp, repeatedly calling Romney "Mittwit" and repeating the standard liberal mantras.   And we started sparring.

The one compelling aspect of our discussions was the fact that he had not heard that Obama had told the Russians that he would have more flexibility on nukes and disarmament after the election.

This is pretty frightening from two angles.  First, because this was so lightly covered by MSM, he hadn't heard about it.  Second, it didn't seem to bother him that his president was selling him out to the Russians.

If this degree of knowledge and acceptance of what should be very disturbing news can be extrapolated to most liberal/democrats, then this election will return Obama to office.  This is my greatest fear.  The kool-aid drinkers are still drinking and it appears nothing can make them stop.  And regardless of their lack of information and the initiative to stay informed, they all get one vote.

What, Me Worry?

Yes, I know containers are not nuclear delivery systems unless the fissionable material is coupled with a detonator and trigger.  However, those features are pretty easy, especially since Iran has been given pretty good instructions by North Korea and Russia.

Couple this with the fact that Biden is counting on the same intelligence service that he blames for failing in Benghazi to tell him when the Iranians "get the bomb," and it doesn't give much comfort.

No, Mr. President

The ability of this president to accuse others of behavior that he regularly exhibits is truly breathtaking.  It is as if he has no concept of truth and honesty.

I Don't Think I Know What the Plan Is

The Plan Works?

Liberals Are Proud of Their Fingers

Here is another lib using his middle finger to communicate.  Of course this is not mean-spirited.

Conservatives Are Mean Spirited?

The Mainstream Media "groupthink" is that conservatives are mean-spirited.  I've never seen anything like this from a conservative.

Obama, Man of Solid Convictions

The Waivering Obamination

I've Been Away

I've been away for a while, but am back to post a series of images I've done in response to liberal Facebook postings by my friends.  Yes, I do have liberal friends.

This posting will be an experiment in posting these images; I've done very little of it in the past.

A Quote That Says Volumes About the Author

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure,” he said. “It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

Media Bias on Display

Some doubt that media bias exists.  "They just report the news."  I've heard that in my home many times, but is it true?  Of course not.  Media reports what they want, how they want, and continue reporting it until they get the results they want.

Example:  Republican George Allen was running for the senate in 2006 when he introduced a man who was following his entourage for his opponent as "macaca."  That comment was run so hard, so long, so often, by the media that it took Allen right out of the race.

In the 80's and 90's, Libertarian Ron Paul published newsletters that were clearly racist, and during the 2011/12 GOP primary race, they resurfaced.   Then totally died.  What was the difference?  Ron Paul is the antithesis of everything that the liberal media advocates.  Why didn't the liberal media take him out?  The answer is that Allen was a threat to the Democrats' majority in the senate, so the media took him out.  Ron Paul, while the antithesis of what the liberals believe, was also a thorn in the side of the GOP, and the longer that Ron Paul remained a factor in the primary, the better for the Dems.  If  Ron Paul remained viable and could mount a third party candidacy, it would ensure the reelection of Obama.

How about the Gingrich former wife's interview?  And what about the timing of the interview and its airing?  Anyone remember any news media mentioning John Carey's former wife?  Anyone interview her?  The liberal media worships Bill Clinton, who cheated on his wife, lied to Congress about it, and is forgiven.  But Newt, who alledgedly asked his wife's permission for an open marriage, is demonized.

It's about time the US public wised up to the pile of crap being foisted on them by the major media providers.

Another Hypocritical Moment From the Pres

In his speech to the troopers returning from Iraq the president was effusive in his praise of their efforts, as was appropriate.  However it is hard to reconcile his praise of the accomplishments of the war (millions of Iraqis have the opportunity to experience democracy, elimination of the cruel dictatorship) with his previous attacks on the war, the previous president, and the surge that ultimately tipped the scales.  As senator and presidential campaigner he was untiring in his attacks.   Does he really think we are so stupid that we don't remember?

This hypocisy is typical of the democrats who believe they can simply change the facts at will.

Too Bad MSM Didn't Vet the Last One

Looks like every Repuiblican presidential candidate is getting a super vetting job.  We're going to know which finger they pick their nose with before long.

Too bad the current president didn't get the same treatment.
